Queen Bee Coaching was founded as part of the Pankhurst Trust in 2018 – the centenary of the year some women were granted the right to vote. We were founded with the belief that coaching can be a life-changing experience and the women we have served since have proven that to be true.
We were founded in recognition of the extra barriers facing women who want to create change in society. If women are underpaid compared to men; underrepresented in leadership positions and across specific industries as well as disproportionately expected to take on the challenges of balancing work and caring for others, they cannot be expected to have any energy left to tackle the inequalities underlying all these issues.
That is why we give women six free coaching sessions across a period of six months – to give them a space to try and work out a way to improve these situations that can sometimes feel hopeless and frustrating. Not only do women find strategies to improve their own situation, by putting these strategies into action they improve things for other women facing similar discrimination.
We are a volunteer-led, feminist service and our vision and mission are underpinned by our values of collaboration, courage and compassion.
Queen Bee Coaching began as a relatively straightforward offer of free coaching, but has since grown into a thriving and supportive community of Greater Manchester women. Our coaches come together at our monthly continual professional development sessions and in group supervision sessions. Our support team of volunteers meet on a weekly basis to ensure Queen Bee Coaching keeps running smoothly.
In 2024, we received National Lottery Awards for All funding which allowed us to create Queen Bee Connect – a community for our clients.
